Resolution 1605 of the Council of Europe

För er som undrar har jag inte läst Bat Ye'or's Eurabia:The Euro-Arab Axis då jag av naturen är skeptisk mot allt vad konspirationsteorier heter. Jag har snarare velat tillskriva det växande islamska inflytandet och den massiva demografiska omvälvning Europa tycks stå inför till någonting så banalt som slumpen kombinerat med en aningslös eftergiftsbenägen politik visavi de muslimska samfunden.

Efter att ha läst följande deklaration utfärdad av The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) är det så man undrar.

Så här på Wikipedia; "... can be considered the oldest international parliamentary assembly with a pluralistic composition of democratically elected members of parliament established on the basis of an intergovernmental treaty. The Assembly is one of the two statutory organs of the Council of Europe, which is composed of the Committee of Ministers (the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, meeting usually at the level of their deputies) and the Assembly representing the political forces (majority and opposition) in its member states". och "Unlike the European Parliament (an institution of the European Union), which had been created after the model of the PACE and also meets in Strasbourg for its plenary sessions, its powers extend only to the ability to investigate, recommend and advise. Even so, its recommendations on issues such as human rights have significant weight in the European political context. The European Parliament and other European Union institutions often refer to the work of PACE, especially in the field of human rights, legal co-operation and cultural co-operation."

Att på denna höga nivå använda sig av den så undermåliga och minst sagt problematiska termen islamofobi är allt annat än imponerande. Varför måste all granskning och kritik av en religion (läs islam) vara -fobisk, det vill säga ha sin grund i en obefogad rädsla. Redan i och med att man beslutat sig för att använda sig av termen islamofobi har man de facto tagit ställning mot demokrati och frihet och för en ärkereaktionär religiös ideologi och dess talesmän. Om dessa råd skulle komma att implementeras vilket man ju givetvis ytterst syftar till kan man ju undra vem kommer att bestämma vad som är korrekt information om islam, statstjänstemän i samarbete tillsammans med islamska organisationer? Nedan följer resolutionen.

Resolution 1605 of the Council of Europe

Council of Europe member states should continue to be vigilant in their work to prevent and combat the phenomenon of Islamophobia.

9. In light of the above, the Assembly calls on the member states of the Council of Europe to:

9.1. act strongly against discrimination in all areas;

9.2. condemn and combat Islamophobia;

9.7.6. encouraging the participation of people with an immigrant background in political parties, trade unions and non-governmental organisations;

9.7.7. taking all the necessary measures to eliminate the inequality of opportunity faced by immigrants, including unemployment and inadequate education;

9.7.8. removing unnecessary legal or administrative obstacles to the construction of a sufficient number of appropriate places of worship for the practice of Islam;

9.7.9. ensuring that school textbooks do not portray Islam as a hostile or threatening religion;

11.6. encourage young European Muslims to become imams;

11.8. encourage the promotion of fair coverage of Muslim reality and views in the media and ensure that the voice of moderate Muslims is also reported;

11.9. develop ethical guidelines to combat Islamophobia in the media and in favour of cultural tolerance and understanding, in co-operation with appropriate media organisations;
